One Mic is an elite speakers bureau and training experience for young gifted females who see a future in public speaking or speaking-adjacent careers—including media, broadcasting, advocacy, leadership, education, and entrepreneurship.

Is One Mic part of the regular five-week Girls R.O.C.K. program?

One Mic is designed as a stand-alone speaker-development and speakers-bureau program. Girls R.O.C.K. may nominate candidates, but participation and selection are handled independently.

Does a girl need previous speaking experience?

Not necessarily. Natural interest, a meaningful perspective, coachability, reliability, and willingness to practice may matter more than an existing résumé or polished stage experience.

What kinds of careers does One Mic support?

The program is relevant to public speaking and speaking-adjacent paths such as media, broadcasting, advocacy, leadership, education, entrepreneurship, journalism, content creation, and community engagement.

Can schools or organizations nominate a candidate?

Yes. Teachers, counselors, mentors, schools, churches, and community organizations can express interest in nominating a young woman. A nomination does not guarantee selection.

Can an organization request a One Mic speaker?

Organizations can submit an inquiry describing the audience, event, topic, date, and desired outcome. Speaker fit and readiness should be reviewed before any booking is confirmed.

Will every participant join the speakers bureau?

Training and representation are related but distinct. Speakers-bureau opportunities should depend on readiness, message alignment, reliability, safeguarding needs, and the requirements of each engagement.
